I’m sorry I didn’t reply to your last email straightaway but I’ve been very busy for the last two weeks.
I’ve been travelling from Manchester to London most days for job interviews. I’ve had interviews with some major advertising agencies and marketing companies and it’s been great to make so many business contacts in London.
You’ll never believe this, but Outreach Marketing have just emailed me to offer me a job in their offices in Covent Garden. The job sounds brilliant! They want me to be in charge of a team that helps to promote some well-known pop stars and rock bands. And what’s really amazing is that they also want me to find new singers and bands that we could promote in the future.
They’ve made me a fantastic job offer. Apart from giving me a really good salary they’re also going to give me a company car. But the best thing is that they’ve agreed to pay for me to stay in a hotel in Central London for a month while I look for a flat to rent. Besides going to lots of free concerts, I’ll also be able to visit all the museums and art galleries I’ve read about. I’ve accepted the offer and am going to start my new job at the beginning of April. I can’t wait!
Everyone says that London’s a fantastic city so I’m really looking forward to living there. We must get together before I leave, so why don’t we meet up for coffee in the next two or three weeks? Let me know a day that suits you.

Hi Martina
I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch for the past few weeks but I’ve been incredibly busy.
I think I told you that I’ve been writing a story. I finished writing it a month ago and decided to send it to some publishing companies in London. Well, you’ll never believe this but the editor of one of the biggest companies has just rung to offer me a contract.
They want me to make a few changes to the story so that it is more interesting for young people. I’m going to work closely with one of their editors who will make suggestions for improving the story. Besides helping me to improve the novel they’re also going to pay me quite a lot of money. This means I can stop teaching and spend all of my time writing.
But the best thing is that they want me to go to New York to meet their American editors. I’ve never been to the USA before so I’m really looking forward to it. They think it might be possible to produce an American edition of the book. And what’s really amazing is that they think my book could also become a film. Apart from meeting their American editors they also want me to meet some film producers from Hollywood!
What about having dinner together one day next week? There’s a new Italian restaurant in the city centre that I’d like to try. Let me know a day that suits you.
