Uncle Bill’s present

My name’s Sally. Last Saturday, Bill, my favourite uncle, came to see us. He had a big square box in his car. He picked it up carefully and carried it to our garden. ‘What’s in the box?’ we asked. He said, ‘What do you think?’ My brother John said, ‘Some toys?’ and I said, ‘Some cakes?’

‘No,’ Bill said. ‘It’s not that.’

We had lunch and then Bill said, ‘I’d like to go shopping now!’
